ABOUT COURSE

This is the classroom portion of the MSHA Part 48A – Underground New Miner Class. This class is a 32-hour class. This is the class to work at any underground mine in the United States. You must attend four days of class; however, we can break it up if you need us to. You will still need to complete an additional day of training at the mine site prior to beginning work. We offer the introduction to the work environment tour at a number of mines throughout the United States.

MSHA requires that each participant must show their face on camera for the duration of the class and have a working microphone in order to fully participate. This is a live class taught by an MSHA blue card holder. It lasts for 8 hours each day. Classes start at 7:00 am Utah Time. We will issue you a 5000-23 the last day of the class. If you have questions about the class or which class you need, please let us know. While you may participate via any electronic device that has a camera and microphone, we recommend using a large tablet or computer. We realize that not everyone has this option so if you are using your phone, please put it on do not disturb for the meeting or it will kick you out when you receive a phone call. If you are unsure of which class you need to take, just call us and we will help you figure it out.
