ABOUT COURSE

Federal regulations require this class to be taken by all qualified electricians once every three years. OSHA requires that all electrical circuits to be de-energized then locked out, tagged out and tried out prior to performing work. There are some items that cannot be done de-energized. This class trains a worker on the process of performing work while energized. Topics include when, who and why circuits can be worked on energized or live, the lockout, tagout and tryout process, the permit process that must be in place and followed, who can authorize energized work, approach distances, safety precautions, qualified workers (journeyman) vs. non-qualified, personal protective equipment, insulated tools and equipment and other safety precautions when performing work on energized equipment. This class is taught about once a month. This is the per person price however if you have more than 5 people let us know and we can charge you a fixed price regardless of the number of people. Please call for scheduling. A certificate is sent out at the end of class.
