ABOUT COURSE
This class is for those who work at both Underground and at Surface Mines and want both boxes checked on their New Miner Certification. This saves you both time and money from having to cover the overlapping information on both classes. This class is the classroom portion only. You must attend four days of class. We always cover the hazards of coal and respiratory protection so your coal endorsement will be checked. You will still need to take the mine tour and the hazard training at every mine you visit. You can break it up over several weeks if need be just let us know.
MSHA requires that each participant must show their face on camera for the duration of the class and have a working microphone in order to fully participate. This is a live class taught by an MSHA blue card holder. It lasts for 8 hours each day. We will issue you a 5000-23 the last day of the class. You will still need to complete the mine tour at the mine site. If you have questions about the class or which class you need please let us know. While you may participate via any electronic device that has a camera and microphone we recommend using a large tablet or computer. We realize that not everyone has this option so if you are using your phone please put it on do not disturb for the meeting or it will kick you out when you receive a phone call. If you are unsure of which class you need to take just call us and we will help you figure it out.
